Class synopsis
Our memories are filled with rich stories and adventures. Many memories are memorable - some are wonderful, some are challenging. Come to a supportive women's circle where your stories will be welcomed.Class description
This three-week class will be an opportunity to write and share your short essays and poetry about your life experiences. We will also read published author's works for inspiration. You can share your writing with others in the class between each class period for supportive feedback.
Class goals
To create a supportive class atmosphere where you can explore your own stories, past and present, To read published writers and poets for inspiration, To give and receive constructive feedback and to grow as a writer
Class communication method
We will meet by zoom on Tuesdays on 1 - 2:30 pm Central Time from 10/29, 11/5, and 11/12. You will have a chance to exchange your writing with one class member between each class. I will give supportive feedback to all of you on your writing each week. I will also send you pertinent writing articles and essays and poems by published writers.Class outline
Class 1 – Introductions. Discussion of supportive feedback model. We will read a few essays and poems from published women writers about their life experiences. Discussion of writing craft tips. Two writing prompts during class.

Class time commitment
1.5 hours a week on zoom call. A few hours a week in between class for your own writing and offering supportive email feedback to a class writing partner.Instructor bio
Lisa Baron, PhD, LCSW is an experienced Clinical Social Worker, Writer, and Teacher with a private practice in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She has extensive experience designing and facilitating a variety of workshops and classes for community, university, and corporate audiences. Lisa is the author of eighteen essays and poems and a co-author of Living Art: Exercises for Igniting Creativity, 2022. She is also the co-author of Conversations with My Younger Self, 2023.
